The Claretian Fathers (CMF) set foot in the Archdiocese of Hyderabad on 07th July, 1982 upon the invitation of Archbishop Samineni Arulappa. With most of the pioneering missionaries working here, the centre had a qualitative and quantitative growth. It cannot be denied that the Claretians had problems in the beginning due to inexperience, difficulty with new language and lack of sufficient preparations. Since, the majority of the Villagers were migrants from various parts of the State, socio- cultural restraints most often affect the organizing of the Mission at the grass-root level. The existing Village Churches of Basuregadi (Sacred Heart Church) and Gnanapuram (Immaculate Heart of Mary Church), and their communities from Gagillapuram Parish were carved out to be the new Parish under the pastoral care of the Claretians. Fr. Francis Xavier Dirnberger CMF, a German Claretian Missionary was the Pioneer. In 1982, Fr. Joseph Madavath CMF, the first Indian Claretian Priest played a significant role in the establishment of the centre at Medchal Check Post. In 1984, a new Sub-station was started at Aliabad, about 15 kms from Medchal, primarily to respond to the various religious needs of 65 migrated Catholic families working in various Cotton Mills at Aliabad. In June 1986, St. Claret Telugu Medium School, Basuregadi was opened to provide basic educational facilities for Village children. On 07th September, 1986 a Boarding aimed at education for boys was opened at Basuregadi and on the same day a house was opened in the premises for the Nirmala Sisters to boost the mission and its activities.
In 1987, the mission community was formally shifted from Medchal Check Post to Basuregadi Village for better functioning of the Mission and to create a notable impact on the life of the rural Masses. A Formation House for aspirants of the Claretian Fathers was also started in Medchal. Fr. James Madappatt, CMF, during his tenure as Parish Priest on 31st May, 2003 celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Gnanapuram Village of Basuregadi Parish. In 2004, recognizing the growing needs of the Catholics in Medchal area, the Parish was bifurcated and Medchal was erected as an independent Parish. The Parish was divided once again and Aliabad was erected as an independent Quasi-Parish and given to the Missionaries of Compassion in 2006. Fr. Koneti Anthony CMF, the present Parish Priest took initiative to construct new Church there and Archbishop Thumma Bala blessed & laid foundation stone for the new Sacred Heart Parish Church at Basuregadi, Medchal on 08th April, 2018. The New Church is under construction, and the Parishioners are helping the best in this regard. It is expected to be finished by June 2021.

This location was called Modduvada (place of logs, as there were many half cut trees). Now it is called Gnanapuram. This Village is growing day by day as there are job opportunities. Around this Village there are many companies. There are 200 Catholic families in this Village. Fr. Nusi Rajashekar Reddy CMF as Parish Priest built Immaculate Heart Church and on 05th May, 2014 Archbishop Thumma Bala blessed & inaugurated it.
