The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) marked its Golden Jubilee with the National Youth Gathering titled “WITNESS”, held at the Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor Vadakkummuri, Kerala. October 1-5, 2025.

25 Youth representatives from our diocese, accompanied by the Diocesan Youth Director, undertook a five-day journey to participate in this milestone celebration. The event brought together young people from across India, fostering unity in diversity and deepening the spirit of Catholic youth fellowship. The inaugural ceremony was followed by an orientation session outlining the programs for the days ahead. Each day featured enriching talks by prominent speakers, uplifting Gospel band performances, and moments of prayer and reflection. Highlights included interactions with Rev. Fr. Chetan Machado (National Youth Director, ICYM and Executive Secretary, CCBI Youth Commission) and His Grace Most Rev. Bp. Jayarao Polimera, as well as a spiritually moving healing service led by Rev. Fr. Augustine Vallooran. The youth actively participated in various activities - leading morning prayers, assisting in the Eucharistic celebrations, and engaging in cultural and musical sessions that celebrated faith and unity. The diocesan youth also joined the Telugu region in fellowship, proudly representing their culture and community. The gathering provided a valuable platform to connect with youth leaders from parish, diocesan, regional, and national levels, strengthening the collective mission of ICYM.The “WITNESS” celebration served as an inspiring reminder of the enduring vitality of Catholic youth in India and their call to be living witnesses of Christ in the world today.
