The YCS/YSM Winter Camp 2025 was held from September 20 to 23 at St. Joseph’s High School, Patancheru, bringing together around 110 young students and 6 animators of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad in an atmosphere of faith, fellowship, and learning. The camp opened with the arrival and orientation of participants, where they were introduced to the objectives, rules, and schedule of the program.

The division into smaller groups and ice-breaking activities created bonds of friendship, while the shared fellowship of meals set a tone of unity and community life. The following days were filled with a variety of sessions, spiritual encounters, and exposure activities. Each day began with the celebration of the Holy Mass and shared meals, grounding the camp in prayer and fraternity.

Mr. Aravind introduced participants to Dexco and guided engaging group dynamics, while Mr. Joseph deepened their understanding of the YCS/YSM movement, its mission, and values. Exposure activities allowed participants to encounter social realities, helping them to reflect on the challenges faced by their communities and fostering empathy.

Evenings came alive with cultural programs, where participants showcased their creativity, talents, and cultural diversity, building camaraderie and joy. A special highlight of the camp was the session on “Voice of the Voiceless and Leadership” by Fr. Jerome, which inspired participants to embrace their role as servant leaders. Fr. Selvam’s session on artificial intelligence invited young people to reflect critically on technology and its impact on society.

Case study activities led by Mr. Aravind encouraged analytical thinking and problem-solving. In the spirit of commitment, participants prepared unit-wise action plans to take forward YCS/YSM values in their respective communities. The final day was dedicated to evaluation, thanksgiving, and conclusion, featuring reflections, recreational games, a vote of thanks, and the YCS/YSM clap and anthem symbolizing unity and enthusiasm.

The YCS/YSM Winter Camp 2025 provided an enriching platform for young participants to grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially. It was a memorable experience that strengthened the bonds of friendship and instilled a renewed zeal to live the values of the YCS/YSM movement.
